Questions

How do I care for the tutus? TOP

The tutus  and dresses are made of tulle which does need a bit of TLC now and then.   The  easiest way to get the tulle to look its best is to comb it with your fingers. If it gets really wrinkled you can hang the garment in a bathroom with a hot shower running and the steam will get the wrinkles out and it will look good as new.  If you have a hand held steamer or iron with a steamer function that will work great as well. Just make sure not to touch the hot iron to the tulle as it will melt/burn easily.

Using a doll stand while wearing the outfits will also help keep the outfit looking its best.

* But most of all, as long as the children have fun playing dress up with their doll that is most important thing.

How do I put the Tutu Dresses on the Doll? TOP
Definately feet first and then pull up over the chest.  I like to put the dress on first and then the capris.  The bodice is made with elastic so it will stretch.  Most of the dresses have a halter top style and they will require that the ribbons be tied behind the neck of the doll.  An adult may have to help with the dressing if it is for a younger child.

Can I wash the Tutus?? TOP
If you get a stain on the tulle I would spot clean with soap and water. Please do not ever put a tutu in the washing machine or dryer.  Allow to air dry and then place in a bathroom with a hot shower and the steam will refresh it.  If the tulle seams flat hang the tutu/dress upside down for awhile and it will bring the volume back to it.

The tutu is so full of static, what should I do??? TOP

If the tutu gets full of static here are some tips:

*take a fabric softener sheet and lightly rub on the tulle pieces    OR
* fill a mister spray bottle with water mixed with a little bit of liquid fabric softener and spritz the tutu

Do you make other sizes for the doll dresses? TOP
Yes,  I can make the dresses to fit the My Twinn dolls and also the 15 " Bitty Baby Twins.  And of course these outfits fit other 18" dolls other than the American Girl such as Our Generation by Battat and Madame Alexander.  For the My Twinn doll dresses the price will be  ($3 more ) due to extra tulle needed to accomodate their 23" height.

Do you take custom orders? TOP

Absolutely!  I would love to work with you to design the perfect outfit for your American Girl Doll or Child.  Contact me via email and we can get started working on the details to make the special outfit or dress.

Do you make different sized children's dresses? TOP
Yes I do.  I typically make a size 5-6 since I use my daughter as a model but I can easily make the same dresses into larger or smaller sizes.  For the larger size , there will be a slight price increase if there is an abundant amount of extra tulle needed to cover the length.

Do you need measurements from my child for a custom dress? TOP

I sure do.  If you want a perfect fit please email me the size waist and what the length is you would like it for a Tutu.  For a Tutu Dress I will need the chest and waist measurement as well as the measurement from the Chest to the length of the dress you would like.

If I am not provided with measurements I have a chart with the average size waist of the different age groups and I will go off of that.

Do you offer local pick up? TOP

Yes, I am in the Northern Macomb Area and you may come to my house to pick up your order or we may agree to meet at a certain location.  If it is within a few  mile of  my house I would be able to deliver it to your home.  We will work out the details to make it as easy as possible.

Do you sell at craft shows? TOP
I sure do.  I just finished my last of the year and will start back up in the spring. I will always post on my homepage the next date, time and location of my next show.

Are you going to be adding new products to your website? TOP
I will continuously be adding new inventory as I make them.  Once the busy Holiday Season passes I plan on trying out some new ideas and projects.  I plan on specializing in the Pillowcase dresses for the spring and summer as well as expanding my jewelry collection.  I plan on focusing a bit more on children's tutus and dresses in 2009.  Check back often to see the new items!!
